  7. The MOOPI software is a UNIX-based multi-user application written in C. Its
  8. primary function is realtime shop floor scheduling and control for discrete
  9. manufacturing. It runs currently in French, English, and Spanish, and
  10. outperforms traditional MRP system by using a finite scheduling method
  11. combining simulation and rule-based methodology. The complete package includes
  12. shop floor control and scheduling, raw material supply and management, stock
  13. control, and bar code for realtime lot tracking. A standard I/O module uses
  14. object oriented programing technology to easily interface the system to any
  15. other software. The package is ideally suited for Just-in-Time manufacturing,
  16. as it can reschedule the whole plant several times a day. The product has been
  17. recognized by several international organizations as the most powerful in its
  18. class. It also meets the need of a large majority of manufacturers for accurate
  19. scheduling and control of their shop, a market evaluated at over 1.2 billion
  20. dollars until 1995 in North America alone with very few products capable of
  21. responding to it.
